SUSAN GRABER

[Susan Graber in her studio]

It was only a few short years ago that Susan Graber left her job as a paralegal to devote herself full-time to her art. Since that time, she has received acclaim for her work in oil, which includes portraiture and paintings of other subjects. She has studied at the Gibbes Museum in Charleston and the Savannah College of Art and Design. She works from The Shed, a storage shed-turned-studio next to her home in Port Royal.

Susan Graber has won numerous awards, and her works may be found in private and public collections throughout South Carolina.

"In deep tones of red, green, blue, and the most complex of whites, the artist establishes a superior affective power as she creates these radiant portraits and figures. We respond to her intense visual investigaion of the human form."

- Nancy K. Wellard, The Island Packet
